Oh boy, I finally got off my butt and finished some new comics! Hooray! They'll be updating Monday, Wednesday, and Friday!

So, I've given it some thought, and I've decided I'm going to try to start doing Transplant once a week. I think that thrice is just way too tall an order with things like... a job. And a life outside of the internet. This is a large part of the reason why it's one of those projects that has fallen into my "meh" filter, because it takes too much extra time when I have other things to do (excessive playing of Mario Kart notwithstanding). Along with this change I'm going to start drawing them bigger, which might help the art be less terrible. See, I've been drawing them in 2.5" x 7.5" format, which is... not conducive to creativity. I end up trying to cram all the information onto the strip and my characters look like photocopied manequins, and then there's no room for the dialog, and while they might be funny (I've been told this by two, nay, three people!), they're very challenging to look at.

Although they have had a marignal increase in quality since I started this strip waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in '03 (Holy crap, has it really been that long?)

So, anybody who cares, be on the look-out, because on the horizon is going to be a totally new Transplant!

So I had every intention of posting some comics this week, comics that have been drawn for quite some time. I inked them, and I started coloring them (rebuilding my color library and everything). I just realized, however, that the scripts I wrote for them, long before I even drew them, were on the old computer.

I'm sad all over again. Anybody want to fake a comic script? It'll be fun.

Yes, some of you saw through my clever ruse and realized that today is, in fact, MY birthday. Thanks for all the wishes!

Here is why my wife is better than yours: A Clerks poster, signed by Kevin Smith, and a mini-pool table. Yes, that's right. My wife is better than yours.

Also, as a special birthday present from me to all of you out there in Livejournal land, Transplant will be updating on Monday! Yaaaaaay!!! After over a year on break, I have new comics! There will be much rejoicing! I know most of you forgot/stopped caring/never cared, but pending a gruesome apocalypse, comics will be on Monday.

I think my journal needs a new theme. I've had this one for entirely too long. Like... more than a year. That's way longer than I've had before. I just haven't been terribly inspired to make new icons. I'm using all my creativity at work.

Other things that I'm thinking about updating: my website. As fun as the current one is, it's not very user friendly and... well, it's kind of ugly. I need something a little more streamlined. That and I need to put some new work on it.

Transplant needs to be updated, too. It's been since last May. Well, there's a Sara-style filler in June, but that only counts in the way that I love Sara. I actually have comics drawn and scripted, I'm just too lazy. That and I have all these adult responsibilties now, so my sad little webcomic has taken a back seat.

Take for example that we're starting the search for a house today. Hopefully we'll be all set with moving in and everything by August and we'll have a month of overlap for this place. Basically we need to get out of the dead-end that is renting, and have a house that we can like... paint the walls and build additions. And with the starting a family.

Yes, you read right: Liz and I, the ones who were so adamantly against having kids for years, are planning on having a family. Her clock is ticking and mine is... doing something. I dunno, I've always liked the idea of being a dad, because I think I could probably do a better job than some fathers who will remain nameless *cough*AllTheMenInMyMom'sLife*cough*

I'm wicked sunburned. We went to the arts festival yesterday with my work, and somehow nobody thought to bring sunscreen. We played scavenger hunt. This involved finding things and taking pictures of them. Highlights: we needed a picture of a worm. We couldn't find one, so Joey did the worm. We also had to do group pictures with strangers, so we went up to random people and said things like "hey, can we pretend to mug you? It's gonna be fun!" Good times.

That's all for now.

New comics this week! I know, it didn't take 2 months. Shocking.

But wait, there's more!

Starting next Sunday and every Sunday, Transplant will feature a piece of Sara's particular brand of crazy filler. This way the site won't be stagnant for weeks at a time, and I may actually be encouraged to update more often.

Lists are fun, even when there's no real reason for them!

1. I still miss my cat. I wish I could bring him back, but unfortunately he was not Jesus-cat and shall not rise today.
3. There's a special Easter comic for transplant today, assuming the update thingy gets unclogged.
4. Actual transplant updates resume tomorrow!
5. I'm seriously tired of snow.
6. Number six called in dead today
7. I'm thoroughly ready to move to Oklahoma.
8. I hear back from the interviews on Tuesday and Friday, weather I got it or not.

The End.
