I am Legend.

Okay then.

Honest to goodness, it was shaping up to be a really great movie. It really was! The major downfalls it had for the bulk of the film was that the creatures looked SUPER fake (that includes the lions and deers), and like they were just superimposed onto the screen, but I was able to forgive it for all that, because it was a good, mindless, popcorn movie.

I was getting into it. I was enjoying the rollicking sci-fi romp that it was, with jumps here and monster bashing there.

Then all of a sudden it ended. I mean, I can't honestly say I was expecting it to be like the book, because... well, let's face it, it's been adapted twice before and with much better results. I wasn't expecting the ironic twist of "oh he's the legend like the BAD guy, okay!" as was presented to us in the novel.

But what they were building up to, I was expecting. I was expecting the hispanic lady and her kid would be like "kay, that sucks. There's no quarantine. We're outright buggered, and now Mr. Science man/action hero is dead so he can't save us. Man, we sure screwed up by ever having any sort of faith in anything."

But that didn't happen. They built up to it, and went the complete opposite direction. It had a syrupy sweet, "oh look, everything's okay, see?" Hollywood style cop-out ending. And I wanted to slug the director.

I'm going to just have to stop watching Will Smith movies I think. Or just stop watching anything that doesn't have "indie-cred."

I haven't watched the movie because I loved the book so much since I was about 14. Should I not?

You should really really not. Save your money for something more productive. Like heroine. Heroine would have been more productive.

Thanks for the warning! :D
