what exactly is it, this mysterious thing known as the kiss?
Websters dictionary defines it as the following:

A caress or touch with the lips.
Yet it simply means so much more, from even the simplist peck on the cheek administered by a mother or father to the most passionate of kiss between to star crossed lovers. It means love, it means caring, it means contentment. How can you tell if somebody truly cares about you? You simply give them a kiss. Their reaction will tell you weather or not they are truly a friend to keep. The kiss is the most simple tool of love, and yet it is also the most complex. It can simply be broken down like most words, but it must be analyzed and reanalyzed. It is simple in it's appearance and complex in it's depth. It is a sign of caring. It is a simple touch with the lips, weather it is given to the hand, cheek, lips, or any of many other extremeties and body parts.
The kiss has grown from something as simple as a peck to show greeting into something as complex as the final locking moment of matrimony. A kiss will remain with you forever. If a friend kisses a person on the cheek he will always remember it. A person will always remember the first time he kissed a girl. He will remember it ten years from now, twenty years from now, thirty years from now. Every time he passes that place, he will say to himself "That's where I first kissed her. That was where my first kiss occured. It will always be with me." Everyone remembers his first kiss. Every girl remembers the first boy they kissed. Every boy remembers the first girl he kissed.
The kiss is immortal. The kiss is symbolic. The kiss is complex yet simple, it is universal yet unique. It has many forms ranging from the peck to the french. It has so many faces and so many names, yet deep down inside the kiss is simply the kiss. The kiss is passionate. The kiss is beutiful. The kiss is devine yet earthly.
