Send a spike and bounce it to the moon
Jul. 31st, 2004 10:43 amSo, of course, my computer still doesn't work. We had found a couple of quick fixes, which basically involved just leaving the computer alone for awhile and it'll be a temporary fix until it gets turned off again... I tried turning it on again this morning after having left it since like 4pm yesterday, but it still doesn't work. I'm really frustrated. While I was down here yesterday, though, I ordered something on ebay that basically restores the computer and makes it all work. Hopefully that will get here soon, because I'd really like to fix it. Liz is also sending me a copy of XP that she had, so that if the black disk thing doesn't work out I can just restore the computer from that, or if worse comes to worse I can just reinstall XP. It won't be as annoying this time, because I actually have my music files in my documents, so I won't lose them. But still, this is horribly frustrating. Stupid giant paperweight with a shitty fan and a shitty processor... no wonder it was so easy to get that computer... -.-
As much as I do complain about the rusty piece of shit and how much it sucks, at least I have a computer that ... sort of functions properly. At least this time it's not the computer's fault that it sucks. It's windows fault and it randomly deciding it wanted to corrupt my system file. I swear to god, all the technology in the world is just out to piss me off. Bah.
So yesterday... yesterday was really fucking boring. Basically all I did all day was watch shitty TV and text Liz. That was really all that I did. Naturally you'd think that I would've done some homework, but I would really much rather procrastinate and put it off until the last minute... or today, whatever. Yes, I actually will do the smelly collage thing or whatever today, and ink my comics and hopefully I'll be able to post those tomorrow, so that my loyal subjects aren't affected by this down time. Hopefully I'll get that done tomorrow, but for anybody that's reading this who happens to read my comic, no promises.
Err... oh yeah, I talked to Liz on the phone. We talked about stuff... she was worried about something, and it took me a long time to coax it out of her, but she finally told me what was bugging her and I felt a little better about knowing what it was. I just worry when she worries, because I worry that it might be something really huge and mind shattering, but... it's almost always nothing. Anyway... after much talking with her, I ended up going to Casey's room and we, being Casey, Gretchen, Red, and two girls from Gretchen's home place all watched Ghost in the Shell. Actually, we didn't so much watch it as we ran around being lunatics. It was good fun. That was pretty much it... after all that I went back to my room and watched more crappy TV for awhile and ended up going to sleep. Still frustrated about the computer, but like I said, hopefully the disk thing will get here today or monday. I payed an assload of shipping, so it BETTER be shipping first class.
